Avoiding Probate and Problems - Wills, Trust, Living Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Other Estate Planning

Wills, trusts, living wills, powers of attorney, and other estate planning devices can almost always save substantial money later on. Those savings can result from lower or no legal fees and costs of Probate, from tax savings on death, from avoiding costly contests, and more. The more thorough the planning, the greater the savings will be. It is possible through living trusts and powers of attorney to avoid Probate proceedings in almost all circumstances barring certain contests. They also avoid having to open and administer disabled estates, and as noted above, those proceedings can cost as much as or more than those which result from death.

We pride ourselves on these areas of practice, because they give us the opportunity to plan in advance rather than to deal with the unplanned and often undesired results after the fact. Because of our experience in contested proceedings, we also anticipate the pitfalls that often occur and plan against them. We do most of this work on a set fee basis, and we believe our fees are extremely reasonable.
